What's this "Stephanie" all about?

Stephanie Writing, cat Hank helping

I love to read, especially great horror or mystery stories. This is my first time writing for public consumption.

Here I'll be talking mainly about designs I'm into. For designs I'm making, visit our site at 21st Floor Designs.

You can thank my mom, grandmother and great-grandmother for this section. Without them how would I know baking = magic?

Handmade Christmas

Lotion Bars

March 8, 2014

As always, what made Christmas special was the company I kept, but I had a great time flexing my domestic muscles and getting into the spirit. The best part is, all these gift ideas will translate beautifully into Mother's Day gifts and you still have plenty of time!

The Green Shore

Lykavittos Hill, Greece

April 12, 2013

One of my favourite experiences is seeing Toronto through the art of others. Offer me a book, a song, or any piece of visual art that shows me or reminds me of Toronto and I feel a little extra attraction to it. If I can’t have Toronto, though, give me a place I’ve visited. I will never forget the feeling of punctuating a Cape Breton road trip with Fall on your Knees, or of reading Bag of Bones in a hotel room in Maine.

I visited Athens for less than 2 weeks in the summer of 2007, but when I read The Green Shore by Natalie Bakopoulos I felt the same thrill, the same sense of burrowing just a little deeper into the story, of existing within it. I didn’t have to imagine the view from Lykavittos Hill or the feeling of the warm breeze on an evening in Athens, it was all right there, vivid in my memories.
